Three To-Do Apps To Install

One thing that's crucial to any SmartPhone user, especially if he's a corporate slave, a working gal, or even a CEO, is a decent to-do App. While the standard calendar app that comes with the phone may suffice for most, others may find that they need something simpler or intuitive. Enter the To-Do Apps that are available in the Android Marketplace.

There is a plethora of to-do Apps that are available for the Android user, but these three have captured our hearts, or at least, our Android device disk space:

ColorNote. Color-Code your notes, turn it into task lists, and even share your Android Market and other bookmarks via ColorNote. When you want to try an Android Market app later, and you just want to bookmark it for the moment, you can click "Share this application" somewhere in the middle of the Android App's page and save it via ColorNote. When you want to consolidate the links you've noted later, you can just cut it from the note and paste it onto another list. No need to delete the older note because it deletes itself once you've cut all the entries inside it. Very simple, fast and convenient entry transfer.

More than convenience, ColorNote also has a degree of complexity that could make you toss your other to-do apps: you can view your notes via Calendar view, Workspace view (color-coded lists and notes), and even set homepage widgets that look like color stickies. It's not only cute and cool, it's also very useful.

AstridTask. If you need more complexity in your to-do management, AstridTask is among the most trusted. You can also share Android Market links on here, but it's not as simple to do so. You have to fill in some other fields that are a big bother if you just want to copy the links on the fly. However, AstridTask is great for managing to-do's with deadlines. It also comes with a widget that displays your tasks right on one of your homescreens. Great for making your reminders stare at you in the face. If you're the type who sets to-do's then forgets about them, this could very well be your biggest to-do breakthrough.

Do It Tomorrow.
If you're the type who keeps forgetting tasks, and would prefer that someone would remind you about it the next day, Do It Tomorrow may be the to-do manager for you. If you forgot to work on a task today, it will automatically move your task the next day. It has a couple of limitations it imposes on the user, however: You will not be able to view more than 2 days at a time, and there is no deadline, alarm, or any other view other than the two-day, diary-like format. However, it comes with an elegant look and writing sounds. It's charming, and if you like your apps charming and simple, this is a great app to keep.

There are more to-do apps in the Android Marketplace. In the coming weeks, we'll be reviewing Jorte, Schedule St., AA Task and My Life Organized.
